The Aweres Local Services Board is currently working with the Ministry of Finance Tax Office to clear up some confusion on what services are included on your annual tax bill. In addition to property taxes, the Ministry of Finance collects for the following services:
Recycling – more specifically, plastic items (numbered 1 & 2) and cardboard. Collection is every Tuesday and alternates each week with one week plastic, followed by cardboard the next. The RECYCLE WATSE collection schedule for 2019 can be viewed here: http://www.aweres.ca/recycling-schedule/;
Fire Prevention, Protection and 911 services.
You are not being charged for GARBAGE collection. If you would like to receive this service, it is recommended that you contact G+T Waste Systems, Greg Long at 705-649-4540 for rates, pickup and schedules.
The LSB apologizes for any misunderstanding and will continue to work diligently with the Ministry of Finance to clarify this matter.
